Services
For specific projects, we can assist in study design for new projects, study implementation for existing projects, data analysis and interpretation for completed projects.
For new projects, we focus on helping you define a clear and compelling study, one which will answer your specific question(s). We do this by first focusing on what your ultimate goal is — what you want the study to accomplish. Next, we focus on why, specifically, you believe that your basic study design will achieve this goal. In our experience, we have found that many projects would fail to achieve the investigators goal even if impeccably implemented. Only then do we focus on the standard statistical tasks:
- develop the study design;
- calculate sample size for the study;
- develop data analysis plans;
- prepare necessary statistical sections for grant applications and study protocols; and
- review the overall proposal for organization and logic of study.
For later stage projects, we can perform all the tasks needed for a scientific study. For on-going projects we can:
- review and advise on the study design;
- advise on whether the study can be salvaged;
- assist with study implementation;
- support study monitoring;
- implement data management systems and support; and
- prepare and/or interpret interim data analyses.
We are not interested in developing 11 CFR 22 compliant data management systems for regulatory submission, however.
When studies are completed, we can:
- advise and implement the data analysis strategy;
- interpret results, in a manner suitable for a scientific publication; and
- assist in preparing a scientific manuscript.
We also have extensive experience training non-statisticians in study design and thinking statistically, and can customize a course to meeting your needs.
